For those who are looking to hire rooms, we can usually offer two large rooms on the ground floor, and 4 smaller upstairs rooms. There is a café/servery area, a catering standard kitchen, and the front garden can also be hired. Following the closure of the building during the recent lockdown, we are now accepting bookings in line with government guidlelines, and including the following adaptations:
- We have redesigned the layout of the rooms to facilitate social distancing
- We have hygiene and mask wearing protocols.
- We have installed high quality audio-visual equipment with large screens to enable hirers to run meetings blending attendees physically in our building with others at home using Zoom-type services
- We are exploring and are receptive to any new ideas for making use of our spaces and resources.
Quakerism is a way of life rooted in a transforming experience of the Divine. From this we seek to live out our principles of truth, peace, simplicity and equality. Our Meeting offers a place of welcome, encounter and spiritual exploration. Our testimonies encourage us to work for a more just, peaceful and sustainable world. It's not always easy to live this way, but as Quakers we try to encourage each other to keep trying.
We hold regular meetings for worship and all are very welcome to attend. Our worship is the time spent with others when we attend quietly to the divine spark within. Others may call this a listening to the inner voice or being open to the inner light.
