The Main Meeting Room seats 170 people theatre-style – 110 downstairs with staging and 60 in the balcony. It is 11.8m x 9.5m excluding the balcony seating. The room is a flexible space with excellent acoustics. A permanent loop system is fitted and it is accessible for wheelchair users. It is fully carpeted with a moveable platform. There is a beautiful Yamaha C3 grand piano available at a charge of £35.00. Hire of this room is £23.00 per hour for the first four hours and then £12.00 per hour following. Minimum booking 2 hours (3 hours on Saturday). £23.00 per hour for markets and fairs.

Staging is available for performances and public meetings at a cost of £20.00  There is also a small PA system with a hand held microphone available for a charge of £15.00. Stage lighting is available to hire at £20.00. Staging, PA and lighting need to arranged with staff beforehand.

The Lecture Room has good lino floor covering and good natural light.It is accessible for wheelchair users and has a portable loop system and it can seat 60 people theatre-style. Charges are £18.00 per hour  for the first four hours and then £12.00 per hour following. Minimum booking is 2 hours.

 

 The Cafe Room adjoins the Kitchen and the Lecture Room. It seats 21 banqueting style. It is accessible for wheelchair users and has a portable loop system. Charges for the use of this room £10.00 per hour or £30 for more than 2 hours.

 

 

 

 

Room six : is on the first floor and is for more informal events. It can seat upto 17 people in a circle of the chairs shown. Located at the back of the building it is one of the quietest spaces. It is available at £8.00 an hour with a minimum booking of two hours.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rooms three and four are on the first floor and can seat 20-25 people each, in a theatre style. They are carpeted with excellent sound insulation and a flexible layout. Wheelchair access is not possible; a portable loop system is available. Charges for their use are £10.00 per hour with a minimum booking of two hours.

 

 

Room two is on the third floor and can seat 20 people in a theatre style. Charges for this room are £8.00 per hour with a minimum booking of 2 hours.

All rooms have flexible seating and tables. Screens, whiteboards, flipcharts and a range of other equipment are available at no extra charge. There are two kitchens in the building. For details of refreshment arrangements, equipment available and charges go to the section ‘Hiring the Building’.

The upstairs kitchen is available to all groups for their own catering and refreshments at no extra charge.

The building and the ground floor rooms are accessible for wheelchair users. There is a fitted disability toilet on the ground floor. Disability parking is available in Ship Street.
